T'ai Chi
T'ai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art. It is a slow meditative form of exercise that increases flexibility in both mind and body. T'ai Chi combines postures and movements inspired by the natural world into forms which are learned and practiced over a lifetime. Classes are offered in several Yang-style forms: the 108 long form (starting with the 19 form), 24 short form, 32 sword, 4 directions and 2-person forms for students at all levels of experience. There are two distinct groups of classes:

Qigong
Qigong (Chi Kung) is the art of strengthening health by focusing the mind and being aware of the breath combined with correct posture and physical movement. The Qigong positions are designed to affect the movement of energy (chi) and to help chi travel around the body to nourish the body internally and externally. [More about Qigong] [Benefits of Qigong]
Our next 8-week Qigong program at the Phoenix T'ai Chi Centre will start on September 23, 2010. This new 8-week program will focus on the Big Wild Goose Qigong and will include Standing Pose and Meditative Walking. [Click for flyer]

Classes for Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue and Arthritis
